Students in Years 1 and 2 are not allowed to leave the school premises unsupervised during school time. Years 3, 4 and 5 students are given the privilege to leave the school premises during the lunch break. DP students are allowed to leave school premises during breaks and free periods. This privilege can be revoked at any time if misused. Students need to have an adequate lunch, snack and water-bottle provided from home. Parents/guardians are asked to send healthy foods and avoid sweets, crisps, glass containers or fizzy drinks.
Any child who has to leave school for an appointment during school hours must be collected by a parent/guardian who should report to the School Office.
If parents/guardians allow their children to leave school alone for an appointment during school hours, a letter of notification should be sent to the School Office. Permission letters for regular appointments should be renewed annually.
Supervised Study Periods
Supervised Study is provided for Secondary School students in the School Resources Centre. During this time, Secondary teachers are available to help students with homework assignments and projects, as well as to assist them with extra or remedial work for their lessons.
Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities
We encourage AICS students to participate in community sports and activities as much as possible. For this reason our extra-curricular selection is limited to activities not necessarily to be found in the local community offerings, including: up to two Drama/Music productions per year, THIMUN (The Hague International Model United Nations), CSI (our very own special Science Club), ELE (Electronic Learning Enviroment Club), student leadership and involvement in the production of the School Yearbook.
